Data Engineer – Financial Environment (f/m/x)

Our client from the financial sector is an established company and is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to provide external support in a demanding project environment.

Location: Remote /Occasional travel to Budapest, Vienna, or Linz

Capacity: 100 %

Duration: 01.09.2026 – 31.12.2026  with possibility of extension

Language: English, German nice to have

Your responsibilities:

• Development, optimization, and migration of data pipelines
• Design and implementation of solutions based on Databricks and Python
• Working with streaming technologies such as Azure Event Hub and Kafka
• Implementation and support of real-time data processing using Apache Druid and Apache Storm
• Analysis and evaluation of existing solutions within migration projects
• Collaboration in an agile Scrum environment

Your profile:

• Extensive experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on Databricks and Python
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (Azure Event Hub, Kafka) as well as real-time technologies (Apache Druid, Apache Storm)
• Experience in the development and migration of data pipelines
• Very good knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
• Very good English skills
• German skills are an advantage

General conditions:

• Predominantly remote with up to 80 % home office
• Occasional travel to Budapest, Vienna, or Linz (approximately every two / three weeks, depending on project needs) for coordination meetings with the distributed team.
