A leading company in the field of sports betting is currently building a central data science team in Vienna. To support this, an experienced Big Data Administrator is being sought to help shape the technological foundation for data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities:

• Administration, monitoring, and optimization of big data environments based on Apache Hadoop (AWS Cloud)
• Management and maintenance of services such as Kafka, Flink, NiFi, DynamoDB, and Iceberg Tables
• Deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
• Planning and execution of updates and upgrades
• Advising data engineers and data scientists on the selection of suitable Hadoop services for business use cases
• 3rd-level support through troubleshooting and error analysis
• Support in the optimization of workloads (e.g., query optimization)
• Evaluation and implementation of cloud-native services

Your profile:

• Completed technical education, e.g., a degree in computer science
• Experience in system administration of Linux systems (RedHat)
• In-depth knowledge in building and operating big data environments based on Apache Hadoop clusters
• Strong interest in continuous learning and personal development
