Principal Engineer, Systems Performance & Reliability (f/m/x)

Our client is a young, dynamic and innovative software company in Vienna, that develops and operates an automated platform. We are looking for a Principal Engineer who will help to build, maintain and scale the business critical systems with performance in mind. In this role you will lead the efforts in improving the infrastructure, data warehousing and application environment for best performance, mentoring a cross-functional team.

These exciting tasks are waiting for you:

• Work on high impact projects that improve data availability and quality
• Work with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs, volumes, evaluate system performance, identify and define key performance metrics and recommend improvements
• Participate in system design and architectural discussions
• Analyze, debug and improve critical data pipelines
• Focus on improving the performance in all the layers of ETL processes

This is why we need you:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related fields
• Strong problem solver
• Inside-out knowledge of system design and architectural patterns
• Comfortable working in the AWS Ecosystem
• Fluent in data warehousing
• Vast experience with various backend programming languages
• Experience working with ETL processes
